A former Sydney councillor, who once faced suspension from the Liberal Party, has since reinvented himself as a self-proclaimed Hooters-loving “alpha male” and MAGA “thought leader.” This transformation has captured the attention of US President Donald Trump, who has selected him to serve as the next ambassador to Malaysia.

About 20 years ago, Nick Adams was the 21-year-old deputy mayor of Ashfield who called for the extermination of pigeons to fight the bird flu.

He was suspended from the Liberal Party after a verbal altercation with a journalist in 2009, but later claimed he had quit.

A Sydney councillor who was suspended from the Liberal Party and turned into a self-proclaimed "high value alpha male" and Donald Trump devotee has been hand-picked by the US President to be his Ambassador to Malaysia.

Adams soon packed his bags and headed to the US, where he became a citizen in 2021.

This week, Trump put forward the 40-year-old nominee for the role in Kuala Lumpur. As part of the appointment process, Adams will undergo a confirmation review by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

Adams said the appointment was the “honour of a lifetime”.

“In (Trump’s) America, all dreams come true. It will be my honour to represent the United States of America in Malaysia,” he said in a post on X.

“Thank you again to our Greatest President Ever! God Bless the United States of America!”

In a statement, Trump praised Adams as an “incredible patriot” and a “very successful entrepreneur,” highlighting his love for and dedication to the United States as a source of inspiration.

“Nick graduated from the University of Sydney and, since then, has made it his life’s mission to extol the Virtues of American Greatness,” he said in a post on Truth Social.

“Congratulations Nick!”

Adams has established himself as an outspoken Trump supporter and a “thought leader” within the MAGA movement.

He wrote a book titled Green Card Warrior in 2017, which Trump labelled a “must read”.

Adams markets himself as “Trump’s favourite author”.

His social media posts largely feature glowing praise of the president and dislike of immigrants, the “woke left”, and Taylor Swift.

He has also posted his love for Hooters, rare steaks, “extremely” heavy weights and the Bible. He added that he was pursued by a “copious” number of women, he was “wildly” successful and “extremely” charismatic.

“Being a high value alpha male takes a lot of work,” he wrote in one post.

Adams was born in Sydney and became a Liberal councillor at Ashfield Council aged just 19, before becoming deputy mayor at 21 in 2005.

He later graduated from the University of Sydney.
