In a disturbing incident in Sydney’s western suburbs, a man was stabbed and a woman sustained injuries during a late-night assault.

Authorities responded to an emergency call on Burnett Street in Merrylands at around 10 p.m., where they discovered a 28-year-old man suffering from stab wounds to his thigh and face. Additionally, a 21-year-old woman was found with injuries to her arms.

Both individuals were transported to Westmead Hospital for medical attention.

A 24-year-old man has been apprehended in connection with what the police suspect to be a domestic violence case.

Formal charges have not yet been filed.
