Celestyal Cruises has announced the successful navigation of two of its ships through the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

On April 17, the Celestyal Discovery, helmed by Captain Nikolaos Vasileiou, became the first cruise ship to exit the Arabian Gulf this year. The journey was meticulously planned in collaboration with local authorities and maritime security experts to ensure a safe passage.

The following day, on April 18, the Celestyal Journey, captained by Angelos Vasilakos, completed the same route, marking another success for the cruise line.

Celestyal Cruises highlighted that these voyages have now established a reliable path for future cruise ships traveling in the region.

“Our voyage plans were meticulously crafted through extensive coordination with key authorities and security teams, guaranteeing the highest standards of safety, precision, and situational awareness,” Celestyal stated in a press release.

After their successful transits, both the Celestyal Discovery and Celestyal Journey are en route to the Mediterranean, where they are scheduled to begin their summer itineraries as planned.

“Celestyal can confirm that all future sailings currently on sale will operate as scheduled, providing guests and travel partners with confidence and continuity as the company transitions into its Mediterranean deployment.”

The release did not specify whether there were any passengers on board – all things considered, it’s unlikely.
