The police were dispatched to a residence in Shalvey after receiving reports of a violent altercation. The disturbance reportedly erupted in the driveway of a home where approximately 40 people had gathered for a party.

Upon their arrival, officers discovered a 17-year-old male suffering from multiple stab wounds. Emergency paramedics promptly provided on-site medical care before transporting him to a nearby hospital. His condition is described as critical.

Police later established a crime scene and began investigating the incident.

Knives were allegedly found at the scene.

Investigations led to the arrest of a 16-year-old boy at a Blacktown shopping centre at 1.30pm yesterday.

He was taken to Blacktown Police Station, where he was later charged with attempted murder.

He was refused bail and will appear at Parramatta Court today.

It is understood that the gathering blew up after the short-term rental location was posted on Facebook, claiming it was an open house party.
