About 30,000 Vodafone customers have been affected by a paymenting error with the company's app.

South Australia Police are currently encountering technical issues affecting call reception from certain Vodafone users.

Authorities confirmed this morning that the glitch is impacting calls made to the Police Assistance Line at 131 444.

Importantly, calls to the emergency line Triple Zero (000) remain unaffected and are functioning as usual.

The problem seems to be confined specifically to those using the Vodafone mobile network.

“We are aware of a technical issue affecting some calls from Vodafone customers to the South Australia Police Assistance Line (131 444),” a Vodafone spokesperson informed 9news.com.au.

“Preliminary investigations indicate that the problem is sporadic and restricted to voice calls,” the spokesperson added.

“We are working closely with SA Police to support their investigation and will provide updates as more information becomes available.”

SA Police confirmed the matter is under urgent investigation and it is working with partners to resolve it as soon as possible.

SA residents unable to reach 131 444 should call on a landline or mobile device on another network.

In an emergency, always call Triple Zero (000).
