If your lane is ending, you must give way to traffic already in the existing lane you want to merge into – if there are lanes marked.
So in this case, where the lane is marked, the driver of the blue car must allow the motorbike to go ahead before they merge into the lane, even if the car is further ahead than the bike rider.
But there’s a catch: on roads where there are no lanes marked on the road, you must only give way to any vehicle that is ahead of you, rather than any vehicle in the lane at all.
