“I rushed out to help and spotted the car overturned on the tracks,” a witness recounted to 9News.

The female driver was trapped inside as bystanders attempted to rescue her from the mangled vehicle.

However, their brave efforts were cut short when they noticed a train rapidly approaching.

“We had to retreat to safety and could only watch in despair as the train collided with the car,” the witness added.

Incredibly, the woman in the car only suffered minor injuries.

She was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in stable condition.

Nobody on the train was injured.
