Exclusive Series Launch: Today, nine.com.au is debuting a new series where we engage with some of Australia’s most brilliant entrepreneurs, founders, and CEOs. Our discussions will delve into their motivations and gather their insights for budding business minds.
Sophia Begg, who has made a name for herself as @sophadophaa on social media platforms, stands out as one of the country’s prominent young influencers, boasting a follower count exceeding 2 million across various channels.
In 2023, Begg co-founded the fashion brand All For Mimi, which quickly gained recognition for its viral, sell-out tank tops. The brand’s meteoric rise has solidified her status both as a digital personality and a savvy entrepreneur.
At just 21, Begg masterfully balances her dual careers, succeeding as a social media influencer and a businesswoman.
Here, she shares her keys to achieving success.
What financial myth do you wish you had never believed?
In my first ever car, when I was 18, I believed that if I put my windows down the car would go slower and therefore use more petrol.
So even in summer, in 30 degree heat, I would keep my windows up and never use the aircon to save money.
What do you wish you could tell your 20-year-old self?
Last year [Begg turned 20 in 2024] was a wild one as it was the first year of my brand All For Mimi.
I would tell my 20-year-old self to speak kindly to herself, take each “mistake” as a learning curve, and keep moving forward.
