A woman from New York recently found a 2.3-carat white diamond while searching for the ideal stone for her engagement ring at a state park in Arkansas.

Micherre Fox, a 31-year-old from Manhattan, had long decided she wanted to seek out her own diamond. On July 8, she visited Crater of Diamonds State Park in Arkansas to embark on her quest, as detailed in a press release by Waymon Cox, the park’s assistant superintendent.

This gem, roughly the size of a human canine tooth, stands as the third-largest diamond uncovered at Crater of Diamonds State Park this year.

Fox has since named her gem “Fox-Ballou Diamond,” after the last names of her and her partner, according to the news release.

Since the site became an Arkansas state park in 1972, it has drawn visitors who have found and kept more than 35,000 diamonds. The park, open to the public, allows adults to partake in gem hunting for a fee of $15 per day, according to the Associated Press.

Earlier this year, a Minnesota resident unearthed a 3.81-carat brown diamond in the state park.
