The Trump diss Bad Bunny hid in plain sight during Super Bowl show

Fans of Bad Bunny speculated that the musician gifted one of his Grammy awards to a young boy named Liam Conejo Ramos, who had been detained by ICE earlier this year.

During a touching moment at the Super Bowl halftime show, the Puerto Rican rapper was seen placing his hand on a young boy’s head while handing him a trophy.

Observers were quick to suggest that the child might be Conejo Ramos, interpreting the gesture as a subtle critique of Donald Trump’s stringent deportation policies.

Despite the widespread belief, this rumor was debunked when Huffington Post reporter Philip Lewis clarified that the boy was actually child actor Lincoln Fox.

Conejo Ramos and his father, Adrian Conejo Ramos, were apprehended by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in Minneapolis on January 20.

Initially held at a Texas ICE facility, the pair was released this week after a judge ordered their return to Minnesota.

Images of Conejo Ramos and his father being taken away by agents pulled on the heartstrings of Americans, and many demanded their release.

Fans believed that Bad Bunny, 31, who said ‘ICE Out’ during his Grammy acceptance speech last weekend, made a second political statement against the agency with the child at his halftime show.

‘Wait hold up… Did Bad Bunny just give his Grammy to Liam Conejo Ramos the poor kid who was kidnapped by ICE?’ one viewer wrote on X. ‘If so, amazing.’

‘I’m gonna assume the little boy given the Grammy was Liam Conejo Ramos. If he is, Bad Bunny just became a hero for me,’ another X user wrote.

A third person called the moment ‘beautiful’ while another called it ‘adorable’.

Others also pointed out that a sign reading ‘Conejo’ was visible during Bad Bunny’s performance moments before the child came into view.

However, other fans believe the child was intended to represent the rapper’s younger self, as he was dressed in similar clothing to Bad Bunny in his youth.

The musician’s halftime also delighted viewers with surprise appearances from Lady Gaga and Pedro Pascal.

They performed at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, where the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots faced off in the NFL championship final.

However, not everyone was thrilled by Bad Bunny’s central role in the halftime show.

President Donald Trump said he would be skipping the Super Bowl this year over the decision to feature Bad Bunny at halftime.

White House press secretary Leavitt was asked whether Trump’s Mar-a-Lago watch party would tune in to Bad Bunny at halftime or Kid Rock, who will be performing at Turning Point USA’s own halftime show.

Leavitt said: ‘I think the president would much prefer a kid Rock performance over Bad Bunny. I must say that.’

The rapper’s political statement at the Grammys also inspired protesters to demonstrate against ICE outside the Super Bowl ahead of his show.

Bad Bunny did not address the MAGA backlash during a Super Bowl press conference in San Francisco ahead of his performance, but insisted ‘the world’ would be happy after his 13-minute show.

‘The world is going to be happy this Sunday, (as well as) the whole country,’ he said. ‘There’s a lot of people that love me around the world, not just the Latino people.

‘To be on the biggest stage in the world is something that I never thought (possible).

‘You always have to be proud of who you are and feel comfortable being yourself, being proud about your history and where you are from and don’t let that limit yourself.

‘A lot of people stop me at the street or the airport, Americans in the United States, Mexico, French and say “I know you’re going to do a great performance at the Super Bowl.”‘

Another anti-MAGA band, Green Day, also performed at the show.
