Two out of three Australians facing charges related to orchestrating and executing a murder plot against a Melbourne father of six are facing a delay in their legal proceedings.

On Monday, Mevlut Coskun and Paea I Middlemore Tupou appeared in a Balinese courtroom with expectations of receiving their sentences.

However, proceedings were unexpectedly halted as the court announced that sentencing has been pushed to next week.

“The sentencing could not be carried out today because there are several matters that the judges need to discuss,” explained presiding judge Wayan Suarta to those present in the courtroom.

Coskun and Tupou stand accused of the murder of Zivan Radmanovic and the injury of Sanar Ghanim on June 14, 2025.

Prosecutors allege that Ghanim was shot six times, while Radmanovic suffered a brutal attack involving a sledgehammer before being fatally shot. Both victims are said to have connections to Melbourne’s criminal underworld.

Radmanovic’s widow Jazmyn Gourdeas attended the pair’s trial alongside her lawyer, her relatives, and her sister Daniela Guordeas. who is Sanar Ghanim’s partner.

The group could be heard saying, ‘No way, that bull***t. Couldn’t they have said this earlier, before everyone flew over here?’ as the judge announced sentencing would be delayed.

The victims had been staying at a villa in the area of Munggu with their partners, where Radmanovic’s wife, Jazmyn Gourdeas, was celebrating her 30th birthday.

Coskun and Tupou, who claimed they were hired by an Australian man to collect a ‘debt’, allegedly used a sledgehammer to break into the villa under the cover of darkness and attack Ghanim and Radmanovic.

Darcy Francesco Jenson is accused of organising the logistics of the trip in the months before the alleged attack – including accommodation, car hires and scooter rentals.

Coskun and Tupou were filmed entering the courtroom on Monday. Jenson is facing a separate trial.

Sentencing will resume next Monday, on March 9.

‘(This) is a huge disappointment because the family has come here, expecting today is when the decision is supposed to be made,’ Jazmyn Gourdeas’ lawyer told reporters.

‘They’re expected – as in any legal system – to inform prior. The court should have known that they (the family) were coming here today.

‘This is an entire family flying and as far as they’re concerned, the delay in court today is already a huge distress for the family.

‘They’re not taking consideration of the (alleged) victim’s family.’

The lawyer added the families were very ‘upset’ at the outcome.

Jazmyn Gourdeas suggested the Indonesian Government should cover the cost of the family’s return to the country for the actual sentencing.

‘Every trip we have come here, we have funded ourselves,’ she said.

‘Your government hasn’t helped. Our government hasn’t helped. Nobody has helped us.

‘To be told today it has been adjourned without being notified prior – now what?

‘What do we do? Go home and not be able to afford to come back next week? Or wait in Bali and lose more money?’
