The 59-year-old filmmaker has listed the five-story property for sale after buying it for $13.5million in 2017 and renovating it two years later.

The luxurious home, located in New York’s Gramercy Park, has six bedrooms and five bathrooms, and was built circa 1925, reports Realestate.com.au.

The townhouse boasts close to 800 square metres of living space, and has views of Stuyvesant Square Park.

There are also arched doorways and windows, a cast-iron balcony, high ceilings, hardwood floors, and a grand winding staircase.

Other features include five fireplaces, skylights and original mouldings, while the kitchen includes a butler’s pantry and marble countertops.

The kitchen opens out to the backyard, and there’s a formal dining room and parlour with a floating staircase.

The spacious main bedroom boasts an ensuite bathroom, walk-in wardrobe and private terrace.

A stand-alone suite takes up the fourth floor, and includes a bedroom, bathroom, living room, gym and bar.

The fourth-floor studio was previously home to renowned jazz saxophonist Clifford Jordan and his wife Sandy.

There’s also an elevator within the townhouse, which accesses the basement.

This bottom floor also features a screening room, additional laundry and bedroom, plus access to the garden.

In an interview with the Financial Review in August last year, Baz spoke about living in New York, despite calling Australia ‘home’.

‘I have a philosophy: dream in Paris, dance in Brazil, have fun in London and work in LA. Australia’s always home, but live in New York,’ he said.
