Has Bill Belichick added another ring to his collection?
The head football coach of North Carolina has already collected eight rings for winning six Super Bowls as the head coach of the New England Patriots, along with two more when he was the defensive coordinator for the New York Giants.
Now, amidst rumors that he is engaged to his 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, the 73-year-old Tar Heels coach has seemingly given a significant clue on the waters near Nantucket, off the coast of Massachusetts.
According to TMZ, the name of Belichick’s boat seems to have been updated from ‘VIII Rings’ to ‘I+VIII Rings,’ likely confirming the recent speculation that the couple is engaged.
Hudson recently told ‘at least one person’ she is engaged to Belichick, according to a new report in the New York Times.
The couple hasn’t made an announcement about the apparent news, despite Belichick having plenty of opportunities to do so. But speculation has been rife for months – ever since Daily Mail exclusively photographed Hudson at a New Orleans dinner during Super Bowl week with a rock on her left ring finger.

On Friday, Belichick appeared on Good Morning America – notably without Hudson and instead with a new PR guru – where he was quizzed by former NFL player Michael Strahan about the influence his young girlfriend has on his life.
‘Well, we have good personal relationship. And, you know, I’m not talking about personal relationships, Michael, you know that,’ Belichick said.
Despite Strahan’s attempts to pry some information from Belichick over his 49-years-younger girlfriend, the Coach only otherwise spoke about how she helps him focus on football and his role as head coach at North Carolina.

Hudson’s role in Belichick’s life has been falling under intensifying scrutiny in the three weeks since she stopped the legendary NFL coach from revealing how they met during a CBS interview. Since then, Belichick has strived to keep his relationship private, albeit without much success.

Not everyone agrees that their relationship is as good as Belichick claims.
Belichick’s daughter-in-law Jennifer recently shaded Hudson on Instagram after the CBS interview was aired.
In response to former Patriots star Julian Edelman’s claim that Hudson was acting as Belichick’s publicist in the CBS interview, Jennifer wrote on Instagram: ‘Publicists act in a professional manner and don’t “storm” off set delaying an interview.’

Hudson has been repeatedly slammed for her perceived encroachment on Belichick’s life

Her comment seemingly supported reports that Hudson stormed out of the CBS interview and caused a 30-minute delay to proceedings.
There had been suggestions that UNC were growing concerned about Hudson’s presence and in turn, were questioning whether they had made the right decision in hiring Belichick.
But the school released a statement in early May downplaying those rumors, saying: ‘While Jordon Hudson is not an employee at the University or Carolina Athletics, she is welcome to the Carolina Football facilities.
‘Jordon will continue to manage all activities related to Coach Belichick’s personal brand outside of his responsibilities for Carolina Football and the University.’
As for Belichick’s boat, he is running the risk of of bad luck by changing its name, according to maritime tradition.
Nautical superstition dictates that in order to safely change a boat’s name, one must purge all traces of its old identity, perform de-naming and re-naming ceremonies, and celebrate with witnesses.
Ancient mariners believed a boat’s name was record by various sea gods, such as Poseidon, and changing a moniker supposedly risks their wrath.
