The growing success of food delivery apps is driving a lucrative opportunity for astute restaurant owners, as consumer data from banks enables companies to strategically allocate their marketing budgets.
According to Westpac, food delivery spending is up 7.8 per cent nationally over the past year.
Avi Labi, owner of South Dowling Sandwiches in Sydney, has adapted his business to capitalise on this trend.
Westpac provides small businesses with consumer data analysis, granting insights into customer behavior and market trends to guide informed decisions regarding marketing expenditures and strategies.
“We help customers make the right decisions and effectively,” Matthew said.
“For example, if you’re looking at opening a new cafe, we can provide insights into where your customers are buying.”
Restaurants in Victoria have reaped the greatest benefits from the food delivery surge, with New South Wales and Queensland following. The demand is notably robust in outer suburban regions, such as south-west Melbourne, western Sydney, Ipswich, Perth’s south-east, and Adelaide’s north.
