Erika Kirk reveals reason she won't watch assassination footage

Charlie Kirk 's widow shared intimate details about the shocking death of her conservative activist husband in a wide-ranging interview Wednesday night. Erika Kirk also revealed to Fox News ' Jesse Watters that she has not watched the video of the moment her husband was assassinated. 'I never saw the video. I never will see it. I never want to see it,' Erika told Watters. 'Certain things you see in your life that you can never unsee. There's certain things you see in your life that mark your soul forever,' she continued.

In a heartfelt interview on Wednesday night, Erika Kirk, the widow of late conservative activist Charlie Kirk, opened up about the tragic circumstances surrounding her husband’s death. Speaking with Jesse Watters on Fox News, Erika revealed that she has deliberately avoided watching the footage of her husband’s assassination. “I never saw the video. I never will see it. I never want to see it,” Erika explained. “There are certain images that once seen, stay with you forever, marking your soul.”

'I don't want my husband's public assassination to be something l ever see,' she added. 'For people who actually enjoy watching that, it is quite literally sick,' Erika Kirk concluded. Watters' interview also featured a segment with a key Turning Point staff member, Chief of Staff Mikey McCoy, who shared that it was Erika Kirk who he called from the scene of the assassination right after Charlie was shot.

She further emphasized her desire to avoid reliving that horrific moment, saying, “I don’t want my husband’s public assassination to be something I ever see. It’s disturbing that anyone would find that watchable.” The interview also included insights from Mikey McCoy, Chief of Staff at Turning Point, who recounted calling Erika immediately after Charlie was shot, informing her of the tragic event.

Charlie's widow also disclosed that she was asked if she wanted an apology from comedian Jimmy Kimmel after he made jokes following her husband's murder. 'I told them thank you we received their note. This is not our issue. It's not our mess,' she told Fox News' Watters after he asked her what her message to Kimmel would be. Erika is expected to accept the Inaugural Charlie Kirk Legacy Award during the Fox News Patriot Awards Thursday evening.

Additionally, Erika addressed the aftermath of her husband’s death, particularly a controversial moment involving comedian Jimmy Kimmel. Kimmel had made jokes about Charlie’s murder, prompting Erika to be asked if she expected an apology. “I told them we received their note. This is not our issue. It’s not our mess,” she responded to Watters. Erika is set to honor her husband’s legacy by accepting the inaugural Charlie Kirk Legacy Award at the Fox News Patriot Awards on Thursday evening.
