AT least five people are hurt after a box truck barreled onto a sidewalk and crashed into a building in Boston.
Horrifying footage showed the devastating aftermath of the accident as pedestrians were left lying on the street on Tuesday afternoon.

A yellow Penske box truck was flipped over on its side at the scene of the crash in the city’s Chinatown neighborhood.
The truck’s driver was trapped in the vehicle and had to be rescued, according to the Boston Fire Department.
“The technical team, if you look at the cab there, had to cut off the top and open it to free the driver,” stated Deputy Fire Chief Steven Shaffer.
Two people, including the driver, are in critical condition after the horrifying accident, according to the Boston Fire Department.
“It was a bad accident, and hopefully those two people make it,” Shaffer said.
Three others were hospitalized with minor injuries.
It wasn’t immediately clear how many people were injured in the accident, which was reported shortly after 12:45 pm.
Video from the scene showed the Penske truck overturned and surrounded by broken glass and debris.
A ramen restaurant on the corner was damaged in the crash, and a fire hydrant was dislodged and left in the street.
“Units responded to Kneeland & Harrison Ave for a truck that hit several poles and became stuck between a pole and a building,” announced the Boston Fire Department in a statement on X.
“Firefighters used extrication tools to remove the trapped driver from the cab of truck.”
Panicked footage from the scene shared to TikTok showed cops ordering onlookers to back away as first responders treated victims in the street.
One person was seen being treated as their body was trapped under the box truck.
Witnesses at the scene said the box truck driver “lost control” as he was driving quickly down the street.
Penske is a rental truck company that provides moving vehicles.
The involved streets are now closed, and drivers are being asked to avoid the area.
Following the crash, Tufts Medical Center, which received three of the injured individuals, activated its mass casualty response, as reported by WCVB.
The outlet reported officials don’t believe the accident appeared to be suspicious or intentional.
The driver hasn’t been identified.
The crash is still being investigated.
