Brandon Blackstock’s tragic passing occurred merely weeks after his 23-year-old daughter Savannah Blackstock Lee revealed she is expecting her second child.
Family members confirmed on Thursday that the 48-year-old talent manager — who was once married to Kelly Clarkson — passed away following a private struggle with cancer.
Florida native Savannah, who works in the real estate sector, made her pregnancy announcement in a July Instagram post alongside her husband Quentin Lee, sharing that they had been ‘keeping a couple sweet surprises.’
Savannah expressed, ‘We are welcoming a little girl at the start of January, with her sister Julianna already being one of our family’s greatest blessings.’
Savannah spoke about her faith in the post on her Instagram account, which has since been set to private.
‘The Lord has shown tremendous faithfulness,’ Savannah shared. ‘His story for us is beyond anything we could have imagined, and His kindness during this time has left us in awe.’

She continued: ‘He’s answered prayers we never even knew how to pray.’

Savannah, who is Blackstock’s daughter with ex-wife Melissa Ashworth, and Lee are also parents of a three-year-old son named Lake.
Blackstock and Ashworth, who were wed from 2001 to 2012, also were parents to a 19-year-old son named Seth.
Blackstock and Clarkson welcomed daughter River, 10, and son Remington, eight.
Blackstock’s family released a statement detailing the sad situation: ‘It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away.
‘Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family.’
The statement concluded: ‘We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.’

Clarkson on Wednesday took to the social media site to announce she was postponing a Las Vegas residency amid the difficult family situation.
‘Unfortunately, I need to postpone the remainder of the August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas,’ the Where Have You Been artist wrote.
She added, ‘While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them.
‘I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows and I so appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding.’
Clarkson remained ‘devastated’ at the news of her ex-husband’s passing, a source told People.
‘When she found out that he was sick, she remained protective of him for their sake,’ the source said.
Clarkson ‘has always tried to keep things classy’ in her personal dealings, the source told the magazine.
The source added that ‘it became clear earlier this year that Brandon was not doing well,’ and that Clarkson has ‘been devastated for the kids’ amid the split.
Clarkson, the winner of the first season of American Idol, has had hit singles including A Moment Like This, Since U Been Gone and My Life Would Suck Without You.
