‘Mama’ Mary Schmucker, the Breaking Amish and Return to Amish star, has died. She was 65.

The TLC star’s son Andrew said she died from cancer complications on Friday at her home in Pennsylvania after she was briefly hospitalized earlier in the week, according to TMZ.

The outlet reported that Mama Schmucker was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2022 and underwent surgery that year, before she was placed in hospice care in November. Her cancer had recently metastasized all over her body.

“I’m making a prayer request for mom,” her daughter-in-law Rebecca shared in November. “She’s not feeling good the last few weeks and can’t keep anything down and she’s having trouble eating. She is on hospice now. Her pain has been so bad and they are helping with that. If you could, flood her with positive messages and pray for her to be comfortable and pain free. Thank you!”

Premiering on TLC in 2012, Mama Mary appeared on Breaking Amish with her son Abe Schmucker and his wife Rebecca.
