Tehran 'attacks US ships with drones'

What to expect at the upcoming peace talks in Islamabad

Peace negotiations between Washington and Tehran are set to unfold today in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.

The delegations will convene at the Serena Hotel in the city, a familiar venue where prior talks on April 11 fell short of resolving the ongoing conflict.

In preparation for the event, hotel guests have been asked to vacate, and authorities have announced the closure of several key roads in the vicinity.

Donald Trump has stated that his ‘representatives’ will make their way to Islamabad this evening, with Vice-President JD Vance leading the U.S. delegation, accompanied by Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.

As of now, the Islamic Republic has not officially confirmed its participation in the talks.

State media reports indicate that the regime is unwilling to engage in discussions while the U.S. blockade of Iranian ports is still enforced.

The fragile two-week ceasefire is due to expire on Wednesday, and the US President has repeated his threats of destroying Iranian infrastructure if a deal isn’t signed.
