Concerns have recently swirled around pop icon Britney Spears, leading her to take a significant step by deleting her Instagram account. This move comes after a series of posts that left fans puzzled and a public dispute with her former husband, Kevin Federline.
At 43, the singer decided to disable her Instagram on Sunday. The account now displays a message indicating that the profile might have been removed, leaving followers in the dark about the sudden disappearance.
Fans voiced concern in recent weeks after Spears shared a video of her dancing with large bruises on her arms, and made cryptic captions about her sons, Jayden James, 19, and Sean Preston, 20.
Last week, Britney was in the spotlight for defending the state of her Los Angeles mansion. She did so while modeling a revealing swimsuit in one of her more controversial Instagram posts. This defense followed allegations that her home was not up to par.
Adding to the recent string of unusual events, Britney shared a video of herself dancing at home last month, sporting a sparkly pink mini dress and a bandage on her right knee due to a “horrible” leg injury. In a separate, startling post, she claimed to have suffered “brain damage.”
These instances have ignited discussions about whether the push to end her conservatorship was a misstep, especially in the wake of Federline’s accusations regarding her “shocking behavior.”
Britney Spears, 43, has deleted her Instagram after recently sparking fan concern with a series of ‘bizarre’ posts and a public clash with ex-husband Kevin Federline, 47
It comes amid fears the campaign to end the singer’s conservatorship was a mistake following Federline’s bombshell claims about her ‘shocking behavior’ in his new memoir
In what would become one of her final posts before stepping back from Instagram, Spears was seen in a video posing in a plunging pink swimsuit paired with knee-high black boots, standing in front of a full-length mirror. This clip, like many others, left fans both captivated and concerned.
While gazing into the phone her lavish hallway with sweeping staircase and grand piano could seen strewn with piles of clothes.
And in her post last month, Spears — whose erratic home life in her ‘messy mansion’ was recently laid bare by family insiders — explained that she ‘fell down the stairs’ and her leg ‘snaps out now and then’ adding she’s ‘not sure if it’s broken.’
The star — who looked close to tears at one point in the video — also sported large bruises on both her arms.
‘My boys had to leave and go back to Maui … this is the way I express myself and pray through art … father who art in heaven … I’m not here for concern or pity, I just want to be a good woman and be better … and I do have wonderful support, so have a brilliant day !!!’ she wrote in her caption.
She added: ‘Psss I fell down the stairs at my friend’s house … it was horrible … it snaps out now and then, not sure if it’s broken but for now it’s snapped in !!!Thank u god.’
The post left fans concerned, with one writing on X, ‘Hope she’s getting good care and rest.’
‘Oh no, that sounds painful!’ someone else added.
The pop superstar appears to have deactivated her account on Sunday, as it is no longer available to view, with a message stating ‘the profile may have been removed’

Just last week the star hit back at claims her LA mansion was ‘dirty’ while modeling a tiny swimsuit in another eyebrow-raising Instagram post
In another bizarre post last month Spears claimed that she had suffered ‘brain damage’
In yet another post she slammed Federline over his memoir, accusing him of ‘gaslighting’ her, and lashed out at their sons
‘Poor thing,’ another chimed in.
‘Britney needs help, that was painful to watch.’
In yet another post she slammed Federline over his memoir, accusing him of ‘gaslighting’ her, and lashed out at their sons.
The Toxic hitmaker said she’s ‘had enough’ in an emotional Instagram post, writing, ‘The constant gaslighting from ex-husband is extremely hurtful and exhausting.’
Spears also admitted she has felt ‘demoralized’ about the fractured relationship with her boys, writing, ‘I have always pleaded and screamed to have a life with my boys.’
The devastated singer added that she’s seen one of her sons for only ’45 minutes in the past 5 years.’
Last month she also shared a photo of herself riding a horse that was taken from behind, but she paired the image with a rambling comment that referenced the Disney film Maleficent (2014) and claimed that she had suffered ‘brain damage.’
Spears’ references to ‘brain damage’ may have also referred to a 2019 episode in which she was institutionalized against her will.
Federline, who was married to the Toxic singer from 2004 to 2007, claims Britney ‘punched’ their son Preston in the face, knowingly gave Jayden shellfish despite his allergy, and at one point wished both children ‘dead’; Spears seen with her sons in 2013
Federline insists the Free Britney Movement ‘got it wrong’ and ‘vilified everyone around’ the star (pictured at Cannes in 2004) ‘so intensely that now it’s nearly impossible for anyone to step in’
In 2022, she claimed that the episode left her with permanent nerve damage.
Spears’ decision to delete her account comes in the wake of Federline’s latest shocking claim in his memoir You Thought You Knew that his ex-wife allegedly ‘punched’ their son Preston ‘in the face’ when he was a child.
Federline shared other claims from Preston and his brother Jayden, including disturbing allegations that on more than one occasion the boys woke in the night to see their mother standing in the bedroom doorway while clutching a knife.
He also claimed she knowingly gave Jayden shellfish despite his allergy, and at one point wished both children ‘dead.’
Federline, one of Spears’s former backing dancers, was married to her from 2004 to 2007, and was later granted sole custody of their children.
In his memoir, Federline claims Spears routinely endangered the young boys as she struggled with mental illness.
He delivers a powerful rejoinder to the widespread perception – championed fiercely by fans and supporters in the ‘Free Britney Movement’ – that the singer was the victim of a terrible injustice when she was placed in a 13-year conservatorship by a court alarmed by the state of her mental health.
Under the terms of the order, her father, Jamie, was given control of her person and her money.
Although he acknowledges it was difficult for all involved, Federline insists the conservatorship period, which lasted from 2008 to 2021 and was so restrictive that Spears even needed permission to redecorate her kitchen, actually ‘brought stability when it was desperately needed’.
Federline’s controversial memoir, You Thought You Knew, was released on October 21
However, he continues, Spears has never admitted she has ‘a problem’, and so her erratic behavior hasn’t stopped.
Federline insists the Free Britney Movement ‘got it wrong’ and ‘vilified everyone around [Spears] so intensely that now it’s nearly impossible for anyone to step in’.
Since the conservatorship ended, ‘it’s become impossible to pretend everything’s OK,’ he says, describing her situation as ‘racing toward something irreversible’.
Federline concludes: ‘Something bad is going to happen if things don’t change, and my biggest fear is that our sons will be left holding the pieces.’
