Britney Griffin, 20, was murdered together with her 1-year-old son, Ky’Air Lucas, in a vehicle accident on I-80 in Gary, Indiana, on Friday.

The tragedy occurred during a police chase on Friday, according to abc7chicago, and the names of the deceased were confirmed the next day by the Lake County(IN) Coroners Office.

The Lake County Sheriff’s attempted to stop the speeding vehicle in downtown Gary, according to the accident investigation team. The car, which had been speeding and swerving, lost control and collided with the semi, spinning across all lanes and striking with another vehicle, a tractor.

The impact force immediately ejected Griffin out of her front seat, killing her on the spot. Similarly, the infant too was pronounced dead soon after. The main driver, a man named Eric White, was rushed to hospital for sustaining a minor injury.

According to abc7chicago, the victims were residents of Matteson, Illinois who were in the car pursued by the police at the time of the accident.

The car collided with a tractor after losing control on I-80 in Gary, Indiana, and on the sport, both the mother and son were pronounced dead.

The driver of the car Eric White was rushed to the hospital for minor injuries and now is in Lake County Jail. The charges against him as of now are pending as the investigation is in its initial phase.

Britni was 20 years old and her son, Ky’Air, was just one year old. At the moment, the police have not revealed much information about them.

The force of the impact ejected the 20-year-old out of her seat, killing her right on the spot. Whereas, the one-year-old was later pronounced dead on the scene.

The driver Eric White was avoiding the police pursuit when he crashed his 2010 Audi A5, which killed two innocent people in the car. And according to the report, Eric was previously was also involved in a pursuit.
