Jennifer Lopez found herself at the center of controversy after being labeled as discourteous towards Glambot operator Cole Walliser during the Golden Globes in 2026.

However, Walliser soon clarified the situation on Instagram, defending the 56-year-old star by describing the incident as a mere product of the bustling activity on the red carpet.

Walliser, renowned for his expertise with the high-speed camera that captures celebrities in stunning slow-motion shots, was in charge of the Glambot that evening.

In a succinctly edited video clip that circulated online, Lopez appeared focused as she demonstrated her pose for the camera and casually greeted Walliser with a quick ‘Hi, nice to see you,’ while her gaze was directed downward.

After watching the exchange, an online commenter remarked, ‘JLo was so rude to that Glambot guy.’

In response, Walliser took to social media a week later to provide context for the viral moment, emphasizing that he did not perceive Lopez’s behavior as impolite in any way.

He began his Instagram reel by revealing, ‘I do get asked all the time, “Who was the worst Glambot, who was the meanest, who was the rudest?” And honestly on the internet needs to just calm down.’

Addressing his widely seen occurrence with Lopez, he said, ‘I didn’t take it personally. It didn’t feel rude in that moment.’

He then reflected: ‘I think there’s a couple things that added to the fuel of this idea. One, she’s just down to business. The carpet was closed. She’s ready to go inside. She knew what she was gonna do. She got into the position.

‘It’s just unfortunate that the position was she was facing away from me. So I am talking to her, she is looking away, but she’s getting ready for the move.’

He explained, ‘In the moment, I’m not like, “Hey, turn around and look [at me]. I knew what she was doing.’

‘I knew she was getting ready. I knew it was late. We were just getting through it. That moment didn’t feel rude,’ the red carpet pro emphasized.

Walliser also made general comments about celebrities and awards shows.

The director stressed that stars’ interaction with his camera activation are ‘completely elective.’

Anybody that stops [for the Glambot], I already like you because you’re taking the time to do my thing and this is generous of you because you don’t have to do it.’

Red carpets are ‘generally insane,’ he noted, adding, ‘It’s just a really crazy environment.’

‘When people land on the Glambot, sometimes they don’t know what they’re walking up to. And I’m not just talking about JLo here, I’m talking about a bunch of celebrities in the past.’

Finally, the media personality told fans: ‘These celebrities, they’re at work. They’re there to do a thing to promote their show, to be a guest, to be a presenter… they’re working.’

Lopez stunned on the red carpet in an over-the-top, nude-toned, mesh gown at last Sunday’s show.

‘I got it from LILY et Cie,’ she told Entertainment Tonight. ‘It’s my own. It’s a vintage gown, from early 2000s.’
