BURBANK, Calif. (KTLA) — Comedian Paul Rodriguez was arrested on a drug charge in Burbank on Friday night.
Burbank Police Department Sgt. Stephen Turner stated that Rodriguez was a passenger in a vehicle that was pulled over for violations of vehicle codes at approximately 7:30 p.m. However, the specific location of this traffic stop was not disclosed.
During the investigation, officers discovered narcotics in the car, Sgt. Turner said, which led to Rodriguez’s arrest.
Rodriguez, who is 70 years old, was taken to the Burbank Police Jail for possessing narcotics. He was subsequently released with an order to appear in court on April 25, as detailed by Sgt. Turner.

According to his IMDb profile, Rodriguez was born in Mexico and grew up in East Los Angeles. He first entered the entertainment business by working as a doorman at The Comedy Club in Hollywood. His career gained momentum as he performed as an opening act in various shows and eventually appeared as a warm-up comedian for Norman Lear’s short-lived sitcom “Gloria” in 1982.
He eventually gained fame with “El Show de Paul Rodriguez” and began directing in 1994 with “A Million to Juan” before starring in several 2000s movies, including “Blood Work” and “The World’s Fastest Indian.”
