This court injunction will reinstate federal employees at least until the end of the case.
SAINT PAUL, Minn. — President Donald Trump’s Administration is barred from mass firings of federal employees until a lawsuit is resolved, according to Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison’s office.
Ellison joined the lawsuit on March 6 with 19 other attorneys general against several federal agencies, challenging the mass firings carried out by Trump’s Administration. A judge filed a preliminary injunction in the case Wednesday, meaning that 20 federal agencies must stop mass firings of probationary employees and reinstate fired employees while the court case continues.
“Donald Trump violated the law, causing harm to the state of Minnesota and its people when he attempted his chaotic firing spree targeting federal probationary employees,” Ellison said in the statement. “I hope this injunction begins to mend the harms caused by the Trump Administration’s mass firings of probationary employees.”
