Cristiano Ronaldo dropped an eye-watering amount on his fiancée Georgina Rodriguez’s engagement ring, according to experts.

The couple announced they are set to wed after almost a decade together in an Instagram post on Monday evening.

But fans’ eyes were immediately drawn to the dazzling rock on Georgina’s finger, as she flashed her jaw-dropping ring for all to see.

Laura Taylor, a specialist in engagement rings at Lorel Diamonds, remarked on Georgina Rodríguez’s engagement ring from Cristiano Ronaldo. She described it as an exceptional piece showcasing what seems to be an oval-cut diamond ranging between 15 to 20 carats.

‘Oval cuts are known for their brilliant faceting, which maximises sparkle and gives the stone a bright, lively appearance from every angle.

‘The centre stone is flanked by substantial side diamonds, adding even more sparkle and making the already impressive main stone look even larger.

‘A diamond of this size is almost certainly set in platinum for security, which also enhances its colour and gives the ring a timeless finish.

According to her, this ring is dazzling and ranks among the most striking ones seen in recent years, perfectly fitting for such a renowned football couple.

If the diamond is natural and boasts high quality within the D-F color scale and demonstrates flawless or nearly flawless clarity, its value could easily surpass £1.5 million.

On another note, Olivia Landau, the founder of The Clear Cut engagement ring company, added her insights: ‘[The ring] features an oval diamond estimated to exceed 10 carats…

‘Possibly as large as 15 carats. It appears to be flanked by two smaller oval diamond side stones, each approximately 2–3 carats.

The setting of the ring is platinum with double claw prongs at each corner. Depending on its quality, the ring, including the center diamond, is probably valued at several million dollars.’

Confirming their engagement, the Argentine-Spanish model, 31, wrote: ‘Yes I do. In this and in all my lives.’ 

Up until now, Georgina has worn a different diamond ring, but the couple were understood to have not been engaged during this time.

Since 2016, the couple has been together and shares two daughters, Alana, seven, and Bella, two, with Georgina also being the stepmother to Ronaldo’s three other children.

Fans have speculated the pair got engaged last month after the model shared pictures of a bridal-themed dinner, complete with ‘C heart G’ pillows, a six-piece band and stunning white flower arrangements.

She also wore a giant sparkler on her wedding ring finger, hinting at the pair’s secret engagement.

The footballer only recently hit the headlines when he admitted that he would not propose to the mother of two of his children until everything had ‘clicked’. 

He said on Netflix: ‘I always tell her, ‘when we get that click.’ Like everything with our life, and she knows what I’m talking about.

‘It could be in a year or it could be in six months or it could be in a month. I’m 1000% sure that it’ll happen.’

The couple have been in a relationship since 2016 and have daughters Alana, seven, and two-year-old Bella together. She is also the stepmother of his other three children. 

In an interview for her Netflix reality show I Am Georgina, the model told how she has been teased by friends over when she will get married.

She said: ‘They’re always joking about the wedding. ‘When is the wedding?’ Since Jennifer Lopez’s song ‘The Ring Or When’ came out, they started singing it to me. And well, this is not up to me.’

Even though they aren’t married, Ronaldo has frequently referred to Rodriguez as his ‘wife in the past’. 

In December, at the 2024 Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai, he said: ‘It’s a big pleasure to win this trophy. My oldest son is here, my wife [Georgina] is here.’

And in a game of Mr. and Mrs. on his YouTube channel back in late August, he gave her the same title. 

In the same video, the couple also appeared to be wearing wedding rings.

Following the surprise title, another video resurfaced, where he casually called Georgina his wife whilst discussing his morning routine.

Speaking on the WHOOP podcast, he said: ‘I take my coffee when I start my day. It’s my routine..in the morning, I take my coffee, speak with my kids, with my wife and start the day.’ 

With Ronaldo plying his trade in Saudi with Al-Nassr, the couple reside in the capital Riyadh.
