Daughter of woman allegedly murdered by Jill Biden's ex-husband speaks

The daughter of a woman allegedly killed by Jill Biden’s former husband has broken her silence following the suspect’s recent arrest.

Linda Stevenson, 64, was found dead at her residence in Wilmington, Delaware, on December 28.

Her spouse, Bill Stevenson, aged 77, was apprehended on Monday and faces charges of first-degree murder in connection with her death.

In a Facebook post, Christina Vettori, 45, expressed her sentiments, stating, “He’s going to need all the prayers he can get from prison,” as reported by the New York Post.

Following his arrest, Bill Stevenson was unable to post the $500,000 cash bail and is now held at the Howard Young Correctional Institution.

Notably, Stevenson was once married to the former First Lady, Jill Biden, from 1970 until their divorce in 1975.

Linda’s cause of death has not yet been released, as New Castle County Police detectives continue probing her death.

While her obituary noted that she died unexpectedly, it did not mention her husband.

On Tuesday, Vettori posted that she was ‘tired of seeing regurgitated stories of Bill Stevenson’s life from a half a century ago and none actually about my mother.’

She said her mother ‘made the brave choice to have me’ at a young age – and that the two had grown up ‘together.’

‘We both were raised by a village of incredibly strong women, lead [sic] by love and determination to be the best examples of motherhood they knew,’ Vettori posted.

Vettori described her mother as her ‘best friend, my confidant, my travel buddy, my sounding board, my safe place.’

‘One hug from her and all your worries would disappear,’ she added.

The grieving daughter recalled their weekly Friday dinners. She added that she could ‘barely breathe’ on most days following her mother’s passing.

‘The pain of losing her is paralyzing and the emptiness in my heart is an abyss,’ Vettori said.

Vettori called for justice for her alleged killing and urged her mother’s legacy to not ‘be overshadowed by her murderer.’

She also gave a brief description of her mom’s life, saying that Stevenson was born in Wilmington and grew up on a farmhouse in nearby Elsmere with her three sisters.

Stevenson ‘never lost her love for the water and vacations at the beach’ as she grew up, her daughter wrote.

‘She loved to swim and was a tiny water baby, who ironically HATED wearing a wet bathing suit,’ Vettori said.

Stevenson was found unresponsive in her living room in December after cops responded to a late night domestic dispute call.

Lifesaving measures were attempted, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Audio from the 911 call placed to the couple’s residence mentioned a cardiac arrest, according to TMZ

The Daily Mail captured Vettori looking distraught outside the home where her mother was allegedly killed.

She previously told the Daily Mail that her mother’s death was a ‘murder’ even as police insisted it was a ‘death investigation.’

Stevenson’s husband Bill was married to Jill Biden, then Jacobs in the early 70s.

He previously told the Daily Mail they were still married when Jill began seeing Joe Biden.

He initially suspected the future 46th president and his then-spouse were having an affair in August 1974.

Bill said: ‘I know exactly when it was. Bruce Springsteen was going to play at The Stone Balloon and I had to go to Northern New Jersey to pay him in advance.

‘I asked Jill to go with me and she said no — she had things to do, she had to look after Joe’s kids, Beau and Hunter.

‘It was kind of a big deal to go meet Springsteen. I had no idea she and Joe were that kind of friendly.

‘Then one of her best friends told me she thought Joe and Jill were getting a little too close. I was surprised that she came to me.’

The Daily Mail has reached out to Vettori for further comment. An attorney for Bill Stevenson was not yet listed in court records.
