Lily Allen's ex David Harbour makes 'cheating' joke in resurfaced clip

During a tour of their Brooklyn home, David Harbour humorously referenced infidelity while standing alongside his then-wife Lily Allen, two years before their separation and her revealing album about his unfaithfulness.

One of the most buzzed-about tracks from Lily’s album, “West End Girl,” is “Madeline,” where the 40-year-old singer seemingly confronts the actor’s betrayal with a mysterious woman. The provocative lyrics include, “I’m not convinced that he didn’t f**k you in our house.”

A YouTube video from 2023, now gaining attention following Lily’s album launch, captures Lily and the 50-year-old Stranger Things actor welcoming Architectural Digest into their stylish residence.

As the couple opened their home, David jokingly pretended the camera crew was an old flame, quipping, “What the hell are you doing here? I have a family now,” while Lily laughed beside him.

Viewers noted how the joke had “aged like milk,” with some humorously suggesting that the other woman, referred to in the song as Madeline, might have been hiding in a cupboard during the home’s tour.

Comments included: “David’s welcoming joke aged like milk!”; “This aged like milk”; “POV: Madeline shows up at the door”; “The joke at the beginning has real 4chan stan vibes”; and “Imagine Madeline was hiding inside a cupboard the entire video.”

‘Harbour really made a trailer for his own cheating scandal during the first 20 seconds’; ‘her body language don’t lie, she knew something’; ‘This intro didn’t age well….’.

In the clip, they showed off their eye-catching tiger-print media room, their luxury kitchen inspired by The Godfather, their floral Parisian-inspired rooms and a walk-in wardrobe filled with designer goods.

As they toured the kitchen, Lily quipped: ‘[This is] our plain English kitchen!’

David explained: ‘When I first met Lily Allen, we first went on a date and at one point you said to me, “I always wanted a plain English kitchen.”‘

She said: ‘That would be quite bold on a first date, like, “nice to meet you, by the way, English is the name of the kitchen.”‘

David laughed and said: ‘I liked it, I kind of liked it, I was like, “Alright, let’s do this!”‘

It comes after Lily hinted towards her and ex David having an open relationship with ‘boundaries’ as she discussed her former husband in a new interview.

The singer who has released her first album in seven years where she addresses his affair, hit out at how relationship rules were ignored and said dating apps have made people more tempted to cheat.

While opening the door David jokes about the camera crew being an old lover and asked: 'What the hell are you doing here? I have a family now' before inviting them in, while Lily giggled

Fans claimed the quip had 'aged like milk', while another joked that the other woman, who Lily refers to as Madeline on her new album, may very well have been hiding in the cupboard

Lily’s new record, West End Girl, has drawn attention for her explicit and brutally honest lyrics about the breakdown of her four-year marriage to David, which ended last December after she accused the actor of having multiple affairs.

The lyrics see Lily appearing to suggest the couple had an open arrangement in regards to sex, as long as it was discrete, with paid strangers and not based on emotional connection.

She sings: ‘How long has it been going on? Is it just sex or is there emotion?/ He told me it would stay in hotel rooms, never be out in the open.

The chorus reads: ‘We had an arrangement/ Be discrete and don’t be blatant. There had to be payment/ It had to be with strangers/ But you’re not a stranger, Madeline.’

Speaking to The Times, Lily seemingly confirmed that ‘agreed-upon boundaries were not adhered to’ in her relationship with David, while addressing how apps had made cheating easier.

She said: ‘There are usually agreed-upon boundaries in relationships. But whether those boundaries are adhered to or not is becoming a grey area all of a sudden.

‘Dating apps make people disposable and that leads to the idea that if you are not happy, there’s so much more to choose from — right in your pocket.

Lily famously uncovered David’s infidelity when she discovered his profile on celebrity dating app, Raya, and ‘joined the dots’.

The pop star joined the app herself, pretending to be ‘looking for women’ – and allegedly found that her now ex-husband had already set up a dating profile.

Speaking to the publication, she detailed how she believed dating apps were making people ‘disposable’ and changing conventional ideas about monogamy.

Her split from David led Lily to check into a £8,000-a-week trauma treatment centre to focus on her mental health.

And she admitted that she has used her music as a way to work through the dark feelings she was having and to ‘lay my truth on the table’.
