(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — Corrye Brewer, a 97-year-old woman from Colorado, was found to have died from hypothermia in January, with the El Paso County Coroner’s Office classifying her death as a homicide based on the autopsy findings.
Brewer was reportedly visiting relatives in the Falcon area, near Colorado Springs, and was declared missing on Jan. 25 after having not been seen for approximately 24 hours.
According to the coroner’s conclusion in the report, on Jan. 24, Brewer was purposefully left outside in the cold “without any means to return home, secure adequate shelter, or contact for assistance.”

The report stated that Brewer had allegedly been left outside an unoccupied house on Judge Orr Road in Calhan by her daughter with no cell phone, and without her walker. Wind and snow were blowing that night, with temperatures as low as 16 degrees.
She was found lying on the ground at the property where she had been left.
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office declined to comment as it is still an active investigation.
