The parents of Charlie Kirk’s suspected assassin Tyler Robinson are a law enforcement veteran and a care worker.
Law enforcement sources identified Robinson, a 22-year-old Utah resident, as the main suspect in the assassination of the conservative activist.
Robinson was taken into custody on Thursday night in southern Utah after having allegedly confessed to his father Matt.
His father is a a 27-year veteran of the Washington County Sheriff’s Department, sources told News Media.
The father then contacted authorities and secured his son before he could be taken into custody.
Robinson was a student at Utah State University on a scholarship, insiders confirmed to News Agency.
His mother, Amber Robinson, is employed by Intermountain Support Coordination Services, a company that partners with the state of Utah to assist disabled individuals in obtaining care.
Family social media accounts display Robinson, who has two younger siblings, enjoying holidays and posting joyful selfies, including ones celebrating his acceptance into college.

He lives in a $600,000 six-bedroom home in Washington, Utah – about 260 miles south of Kirk’s assassination in Orem.
One image from Robinson’s mother’s social media from 2017, shows him wearing a Donald Trump costume for Halloween.
He also posed with guns in his childhood, which included a M2 Browning 50. caliber gun.
A motive for the assassination has yet to be confirmed by officials. Authorities stated at a press conference on Thursday night that Robinson may face the death penalty if found guilty.
Trump announced the arrest in an appearance on Fox News, where he said that ‘someone very close’ to the suspect turned him in.
Robinson’s arrest follows an extensive manhunt lasting over a day and a half, during which officials had offered a $100,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.
Surveillance video was made public, capturing a person on a rooftop jumping from a building and running into a nearby neighborhood following the shooting of Kirk.
The conservative commentator was hit by a single bullet while speaking to a crowd at the public university in Orem on Wednesday afternoon.
The father of two, well-known for his strong support of the MAGA movement and engaging debates with college students nationwide, fell immediately after the gunfire hit him.

The alleged killer was found after multiple suspects were incorrectly apprehended on Tuesday.
Initially, a ‘person of interest’ was said to be in custody in connection with Kirk’s shooting, Utah Gov. Spencer Cox announced Wednesday evening.
Kirk was answering a question about mass shootings mere seconds before he was struck. He was rushed to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Kirk leaves behind his wife Erika Frantzve, with whom he had a three-year-old daughter and a son, 16 months. The couple celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary in May.
President Donald Trump led the tributes for the late political commentator. ‘The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead,’ Trump wrote on Truth Social.
‘He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!’
