Rising singer, songwriter, and actress Diamond White has announced a revised release date for her highly anticipated single “ALLERGIC.” Originally set to drop on April 3, the track will now be released on April 30.

In an exclusive interview with Where Is The Buzz, White opened up about the challenges of being an independent Black artist and the importance of delivering high-quality work on her own terms.

“Don’t yell at me, but I pushed it to April 30,” she shared. “Being an independent Black artist is hard, especially when you’re basically doing everything yourself. And I wanted to make sure I put my best foot forward.”

Despite the delay, fans can rest assured that “ALLERGIC” will be worth the wait. White described the song as a catchy pop track with sonic shifts throughout its runtime, making it an engaging listen from start to finish.

“Creatively, it’s a very pop song. Just a catchy little bop that sonically changes throughout the whole song,” she explained. “The one thing that remains the same in all of my music is the fact that I write from real life experiences. Right now, I feel very allergic to love, especially the love I think I deserve, because I either mess it up or the other person isn’t on my level.”

A Visual Shift: Fans Can Expect More Dance

White also teased the music video for “ALLERGIC,” revealing a departure from her previous story-driven visuals seen during the Summerland era. This time, she is opting for a more performance-based approach with a heavy emphasis on choreography and movement.

In the Summerland era, all the music videos were very story-driven. This time around, I wanted to start moving,“she said, hinting at a new creative direction that will bring even more energy to her visuals.

‘Money’ Will Be the Next Single, Not ‘Daddy Issues’

Many fans speculated that “Daddy Issues” would be the next single following “ALLERGIC,” but White clarified that another track, “Money,” will take that spot.

“‘Daddy Issues’ unfortunately isn’t going to be the follow-up single,” she confirmed. “The next single is another bop called ‘Money.’ ‘Money’ is a story about how I got ghosted, and instead of being sad, I went out and got a bag. I’m a Capricorn. What can I say?”

While fans will have to wait a little longer for “Daddy Issues,” White reassured them that it will be released soon, acknowledging that it is already a fan favorite.

Building Up to a New EP, Not an Album

With new singles on the way, many have wondered whether White is working toward a full-length album or a shorter project. She confirmed that her current focus is on releasing an EP rather than a third studio album.

“Yes. I’m gunning for an EP,” she shared. “I feel like with things like TikTok and Instagram, albums don’t get the appreciation they deserve. And I’ve already put out two, Tomorrow and Summerland, so if you need more music from me, just go back and listen to those. But an EP is the goal.

Her perspective reflects the evolving music industry, where shorter projects and single-driven releases often perform better in the streaming era. However, with her dedicated fan base eagerly awaiting new material, an EP seems like the perfect way to showcase her growth and versatility.

What’s Next for Diamond White?

As White prepares for the April 30 release of “ALLERGIC,” fans can look forward to an exciting new era of music that blends pop sensibilities, personal storytelling, and dynamic visuals. With “Money” set to follow and an EP in the works, 2024 is shaping up to be a major year for the artist.

For now, listeners can revisit her previous albums Tomorrow and Summerland while counting down to the new releases.

Stay tuned for “ALLERGIC” on April 30 and keep an eye out for updates on Diamond White’s upcoming projects!
