For many drivers, gas stations are a mundane necessity, but for Buc-ee’s enthusiasts, they are an anticipated destination. The beaver-branded powerhouse is ready to extend its reach, appearing in more states than ever before.

By the close of 2026, Buc-ee’s, often referred to as the ‘Disneyland of gas stations,’ plans to unveil four additional iconic locations, with 15 more on the horizon in subsequent years. Enthusiasts can look forward to seeing the full list of new sites.

Originally rooted in Texas, Buc-ee’s is broadening its horizons with upcoming travel centers in cities across Ohio, North Carolina, Kentucky, Arizona, and beyond. This expansion marks a significant push into new territories.

Florida, Tennessee, and Arkansas will see the most significant additions, as the chain ventures further into the Southwest and Midwest regions. This ambitious expansion promises to bring more of their massive pit stops to new audiences.

Each new Buc-ee’s location promises a supersized experience, featuring over a hundred gas pumps, a store brimming with brisket and their popular beaver nuggets, alongside their renowned clean restrooms.

Buc-ee’s has cultivated a dedicated following, particularly among Gen-Z, drawn to its social media-friendly snacks and its grandiose scale. The brand’s unique appeal continues to attract fans, making it much more than just a stop for fuel.

Fan favorites include the Sausage on a Stick, Dr Pepper Icees and an entire wall of jerky.  

The announcement of a new Buc-ee’s location in Fort Pierce, Florida, made headlines last week after early plans suggested the gas station would span 76,000 square feet – about half the size of a Walmart Supercenter and even bigger than the company’s current largest store in Luling, Texas.

Buc-ee’s is rapidly expanding beyond its Texas roots, with new travel center locations planned in cities across states like Ohio, North Carolina, Kentucky, Arizona and more 

That claim has since been debunked. ‘Contrary to recent reporting that the proposed project in St Lucie, FL will be our largest store, Luling, Texas, is, and will remain, the largest Buc-ee’s Travel Center in our fleet,’ Stan Beard, a spokesman for the company, said. 

More than a gas station, Buc-ee’s has turned pit stops into destinations. 

Its football-field-sized travel centers pack in hundreds of pumps, restrooms that routinely win national awards, and an almost overwhelming selection of snacks, souvenirs and Texas-themed merchandise. 

Inside, shoppers can find freshly made barbecue sandwiches, mountains of the chain’s famous Beaver Nuggets – the chain’s caramelized corn puff snack – house-brand jerky cut and packaged on site, and aisles of branded apparel emblazoned with Buc-ee’s grinning beaver mascot. 

Employees in bright red shirts hustle between checkout counters that often outnumber those in a supermarket, keeping lines moving even during holiday travel rushes.

As Buc-ee’s has expanded beyond its Texas roots, each new location tends to arrive with fanfare – traffic backups, social media buzz, and curious travelers treating the opening like a community event rather than a store launch. 

The company remains privately owned and famously tight-lipped about its finances, adding to the mystique around a brand that has turned the humble gas stop into a piece of Americana.

The first Buc-ee’s opened in Texas in 1982, and the company now has 54 locations across 11 states that are all open 24-hours-a-day, 365 days a year. The majority of Buc-ee’s are in Texas, with others in Colorado, Missouri, Kentucky, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina and Alabama.  

The largest Buc-ee’s location is a 75,000 square-foot station with 120 fuel pumps that opened in Luling in 2024. 

The Luling location had snatched the title of biggest Buc-ee’s from a location opened up in Tennessee back in 2023. 

Along with the upcoming Fort Pierce location, Buc-ee’s has other openings planned for 2026 in Texas, Ohio and Arizona. 

When the monster station opened in Sevierville, Tennessee, the Daily Mail saw crowds of shoppers camped out overnight to witness the opening. The store features 120 gas pumps, a barbecue brisket counter with a ‘Texas round-up station’ and rows upon rows of beef jerky.

But perhaps the most popular thing to eat at Buc-ee’s is its famous Beaver Nuggets – caramel corn.

The other side of the store sold merchandise, including T-shirts, mugs, socks, stickers, swimsuits and other items emblazoned with the Buc-ee’s beaver. That site, which has 400 full-time employees, also has a 250ft car wash.
