“Come here, Kona!” When a 10-month-old Labrador retriever fell through a frozen lake — and treaded water for 15 minutes — one brave police officer sprang into action. Watch as Officer John Smith in Lewiston, New York, races onto the ice and pulls the pooch to safety in this newly released Dec. 5, 2021 rescue video. According to the dog owner, Kona usually stays close but “instinct kicked in when a flock of geese landed in the middle of the lake.”
