SAN DIEGO —
A driver struck and fatally injured a 77-year-old man who was walking across a street Wednesday evening in Sorrento Valley near Miramar, police said.
It happened just before 5:40 p.m. on Camino Santa Fe near Miramar Road, San Diego police Officer John Buttle said.
The victim was walking east across Camino Santa Fe when he was struck by a 63-year-old man driving north, Buttle said. Few other details of the collision were immediately known.
Emergency personnel performed CPR on the victim at the scene before paramedics took him to a hospital, where he died, Buttle said. His name was not released.
