A 77-year-old Queensland woman has been hospitalised with severe injuries after a dog attacked her outside her Gold Coast home.
The woman was watering her front garden in Carrara on the Gold Coast, when the dog attacked her head, knocking her over.
She sustained severe injuries to her face, particularly to her upper lip and nose, which were mauled and bitten off.
The woman was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital and underwent emergency surgery.
She is currently in a stable condition.
The incident is yet to be reported to police or to Gold Coast City Council.
