Speculation about Ellen DeGeneres’s return to the United States has intensified after she was seen strolling through Montecito with her wife, Portia de Rossi, earlier this week.

The 67-year-old comedian, who recently showcased a significant change in her hairstyle, relocated to the United Kingdom shortly after Donald Trump’s victory in the 2024 presidential election late last year.

Though the couple, who married in 2008, reportedly plans to spend only a few weeks in California, a source revealed to The Mail on Sunday that DeGeneres intends to “come home soon” to the West Coast.

During their outing on Tuesday, DeGeneres opted for a laid-back look, donning a gray-printed shirt, denim jeans, and a dark navy blazer.

She completed her casual ensemble with comfortable sneakers and a blue cap atop her newly dyed blonde hair.

De Rossi also embraced a relaxed style for their time back in California, wearing a cream-colored sweater paired with loose-fitting blue jeans.

The pair were seen stopping by The Post for a bit of shopping – and also grabbed a bite to eat for a lowkey lunch. 

After picking up a few items, DeGeneres and wife de Rossi were also accompanied by their adorable dog named Jinx – who they seemingly adopted last month in November. 

The couple later met up with the star’s brother Vance and sister-in-law Joanna ahead of the New Year’s holiday. 

The group was seen mingling outside a building in Santa Barbara before heading to their next destination. 

DeGeneres is no stranger to the Montecito area and previously owned homes there in the past. 

Back in March of this year, she took the big step of listing her Montecito property for $4,995,000.

Less than two weeks later, the star’s home sold for over the asking price at $5.2 million.

Last week, DeGeneres jumped to her main Instagram page to unveil her new blonde locks – after sporting gray hair for around a year. 

During the latest excursion on Tuesday, DeGeneres kept it casual sporting a gray-printed shirt as well as a pair of denim jeans and dark navy blazer on top

She completed her overall ensemble by slipping into a pair of comfy sneakers and added a blue cap on top of her newly-dyed blonde locks

De Rossi also dressed down while enjoying time back in California, and wore a cream-colored sweater as well as loose-fitting blue jeans

Both she and de Rossi originally moved into an $18 million house in the Cotswolds area – but the six-bedroom home was met with severe flooding due to Storm Bert.

An insider previously informed the Daily Mail, ‘Ellen and Portia have had several issues with the place they initially moved into.

‘First there was the flooding, of course, then there was an issue with some locals complaining about some building work carried out at the property.’

DeGeneres and de Rossi then moved to a different property which is only a 30 minute drive from the original home that they had bought. 

However, an insider told The Mail on Sunday earlier this month that there is a possibly that the couple will move back to the U.S. – despite Trump still being in office.
