Emily Maynard, well-known from her stint on The Bachelor, has stepped into the role of a grandmother.

On Friday, her daughter Ricki Hendrick, who is 20, took to Instagram to share the joyous news of her first child’s arrival.

In a heartfelt joint Instagram post with her husband, Tyler Johnson, they shared touching hospital photos with their newborn. They expressed their overwhelming emotions by stating, “We became grandparents today!! The feeling is inexpressible. This is love,” and included a meaningful bible verse, “1 John 4:7-11.”

Earlier, Hendrick had posted a pair of black and white hospital images. One showed a medical professional gently presenting her swaddled baby, while she rested in bed.

In another touching moment, her stepfather was captured cradling the baby, as her mother lovingly placed a hand on the newborn’s arm.

‘Best day ever,’ she captioned the precious pair of snapshots.

This joyous event follows her August announcement on social media, where she shared an ultrasound image to reveal her pregnancy.

According to Us Weekly, she wrote in another post at the time, ‘My heart is so full, yet my stomach is so empty because she hates all food. I’m convinced,’ revealing she was having a baby girl.

Hendrick’s dad, Maynard’s fiancé Ricky Hendrick, died in a 2004 plane crash when he was 24-years-old.

Maynard didn’t find out she was pregnant until after his untimely death, and gave birth at 19 years old.

Hendrick’s full name is Josephine Riddick Hendrick, but her mom has called her Ricki in honor of her late father. 

The mother-of-six – who shares five young kids with Johnson – appeared on The Bachelor in 2011.

She beat the other contestants and was engaged to Brad Womack by the end of season 15, but the couple split shortly after the finale.

Maynard later became The Bachelorette in 2012’s season eight. She got engaged to Jef Holm, but they also split before walking down the aisle.

She married Johnson in 2014 and they share sons Jennings, 10, Gibson, nine, Gatlin, eight, Jones, three, and daughter Nola, five.

Following Hendrick’s pregnancy announcement, Maynard took to social media to share her reaction to the news.

The now-grandmother is open about her strong Christian faith, but revealed she was not upset that her daughter was having a baby out of wedlock.

Hendrick posted a question from a follower who asked what her family thinks of her having a ‘baby outside marriage.’

Maynard appeared in a video and facetiously responded, ‘Very against it. I cannot believe anybody would ever do that. Unforgivable.’

Her daughter playfully piled on, ‘My mom is truthfully so devastated, she’s so upset,’ while showing baby items her mom bought in anticipation of her grandchild.

‘She’s not excited at all for me to have a baby. She’s pissed, actually. She’s super angry. She can’t even look at me. She doesn’t support it at all. She is pissed,’ she joked.
