DOVER, Del. — This summer, NASCAR enthusiasts attending the July 18-20 tripleheader weekend at Dover Motor Speedway will be in for a unique beachside treat as the speedway collaborates with Visit Delaware to introduce Miles Beach, presented by Visit Delaware, within the expansive Fan Zone.

Spanning over an acre, Miles Beach brings the coastal allure and vibrant energy of Delaware’s renowned beach towns straight to the Monster Mile. Beginning Thursday, July 17, at the THOR Camper Welcome Party, fans will enjoy a wide array of attractions, with the area remaining accessible throughout the race weekend. Features include beach-themed entertainment, delicious local culinary offerings, and numerous free, family-friendly activities.

Central to the beach setup is 600 tons of imported sand, complemented by palm trees, Adirondack chairs, and beach grasses to create an authentic coastal atmosphere. A 25-foot lighthouse coupled with a boardwalk, reminiscent of those on Delaware’s beaches, will mark the entrance. Oversized features like the returning 60-foot-tall World’s Largest Rubber Duck add to the visual spectacle and offer popular photo opportunities.

The White Lightning Bar + Arcade—named after the original nickname of Dover’s concrete racing surface—will feature Anheuser-Busch products and a retro-style arcade open all weekend. The beach culinary offerings will include local staples such as boardwalk fries, Dolle’s salt-water taffy, orange crushes, and other summer favorites. Live entertainment is scheduled throughout the weekend at the Miles Beach Stage, with confirmed performances by the Mariachi Arrieros Band, Trinidad North Steel Drum Band, The Red Hot Ramblers, and the Homestead Bluegrass Band.

Interactive experiences will include a caricature artist, a dunk tank supporting Speedway Children’s Charities, and the creation of a large sand sculpture to be completed by Sunday. Staffed by the Miles Beach Patrol, the area will also feature multiple themed installations for fans to capture souvenir photos alongside beach-themed versions of the Monster Mile’s iconic mascot, Miles the Monster.

“We hope all of our fans will hang out with the Miles Beach Patrol, dip their toes in the sand and enjoy some iconic Delaware tunes and treats before and after enjoying America’s best racing at the Monster Mile in July,” said Mike Tatoian, president and general manager of Dover Motor Speedway.

To enhance the race weekend experience, Dover Motor Speedway and Visit Delaware will also offer two free daily shuttle services for NASCAR attendees to visit popular in-state destinations. One shuttle will transport fans to the Rehoboth Beach Bandstand, while the other will take them to the Delaware State Fair in Harrington. Riders will have ample time to explore both the boardwalk and midway attractions before returning for the on-track events.

“The Delaware Tourism Office is excited to partner on Miles Beach, presented by Visit Delaware, with the Speedway,” said Jessica Welch, director of the Delaware Tourism Office. “While visiting Miles Beach, fans will be immersed in the summer-themed atmosphere of the Delaware beaches, reminding them of what Delaware’s six different beach towns have to offer and encouraging them to return to Delaware in the future and explore our beautiful state.”

Additional information, including an up-to-date schedule of Fan Zone attractions and performances, as well as shuttle registration details, is available at dovermotorspeedway.com.
