ESCONDIDO —
An 11-year-old Escondido boy who went missing over the weekend was found unharmed Tuesday at a friend’s house on the south side of the city, police said.
A community member who saw a Facebook post about the missing boy called in a tip, which led police to the boy, Lt. Bodie Berreth said.
Police thanked community members and news media for disseminating information about the case.
The boy, a student at Farr Elementary School, was last seen about 10 a.m. Saturday at his home on North Fig Street near East Mission Avenue, police said.
Police canvassed the neighborhood Sunday, with a police helicopter overhead while officers distributed fliers.
