$100 million Powerball jackpot to be drawn tonight

The biggest Powerball jackpot of the year is up for grabs tonight, with hordes of Australians expected to purchase a ticket.

This evening, individuals nationwide will be anxiously anticipating the chance to win the $100 million jackpot.

So far, only six Australians have successfully claimed a lottery prize of this magnitude.

Tonight’s draw will see people from around the country hold their breath in hope of scooping the $100 million prize. (Supplied)

The previous occasion when Powerball offered a $100 million prize took place on November 24, drawing in millions of ticket buyers across Australia.

Sales peaked at 5.47pm on the day of the draw, when 6415 tickets were sold in a single minute.

The draw will close at 7.30pm AEST tonight.
