A FORMER Arkansas State football player called 911 to report that his girlfriend was having an allergic reaction — police later claimed he’d poisoned her.
The man was arrested on Thursday and is accused of poisoning his pregnant girlfriend last year, resulting in the death of the fetus.

Blaise Taylor, 27, was a college football star and was recently a scout for the Tennessee Titans.
In February 2023, Taylor called an ambulance and reported that his pregnant girlfriend, Jade Benning, was experiencing an allergic reaction, reports NBC affiliate WSMV4.
Benning was rushed to the hospital in Tennessee, where her condition became critical.
Her five-month fetus died on February 27th, while she died on March 6th.
She wasn’t able to speak with the police before her death.
Benning worked in a catering company, and received many tributes following her death.
“Every room you walked in, the room lit up,” said a friend in a Facebook post.
“To know you was to love you. Thank you for everything. You could never be repaid.”
After months of investigation, the findings uncovered by the police and scientists from the crime lab resulted in a murder indictment against Taylor.
This year, Taylor was reportedly hired at Texas A&M, ESPN reported.
The hiring can be tied to his father, Trooper Taylor, who was the associate head coach of the team.
Earlier on in his life, Taylor played as a defensive back at Arkansas State.
He played on the team from 2014 to 2017.
Taylor’s charged with two counts of first-degree murder, one for Bennings and another for her fetus.
He was arrested in Utah, where he’s based.
“He is alleged to have poisoned Benning without her knowledge,” said Nashville Police.
“The MNPD will be working with Utah authorities to arrange for Taylor’s return to Nashville.”
