A young Irish fashion designer found dead on a boat in the Hamptons town of Montauk, New York was not murdered, police have said.

The body of Martha Nolan-O’Slattara, 33, ‘did not show evidence of violence,’ Suffolk County Police Department announced Wednesday afternoon.

A police spokesperson stated that an initial exam of Nolan-O’Slattara’s remains was ‘inconclusive,’ with the cause of death ‘pending further examination.’

Daily Mail asked Suffolk County Police if the death was drug-related, but they refused to comment.

Nolan-O’Slattara was found dead on a boat called Ripple around midnight on Tuesday. Witnesses recalled screams ringing out around the same time.

A man discovered her body aboard the boat docked at the Montauk Yacht Club. Bystanders attempted CPR as first responders hurried to the location.

A witness reported that when the designer lost consciousness, her boyfriend was seen running outside unclothed, shouting ‘that’s my girlfriend’ in a bid to seek help from other boaters.

Nolan-O’Slattara and her boyfriend were yacht club regulars, a local who also frequents the Montauk hot spot told the Daily Mail.

The local claimed Nolan-O’Slattara’s boyfriend is the owner of the ‘party boat’ she died on.

She was highly-regarded among the elite community, known as a friendly face with an outgoing personality.

‘We come here [to Montauk] every summer and nothing like this ever happens,’ a boater told the Daily Mail.

Violent crimes are unusual in the upscale Long Island beach and resort area that is known for its monstrous mansions and high-end dining.

Influencers and celebrities often flock to the area, especially in the summer months.

Nolan-O’Slattara was originally from Carlow, Ireland and moved to Manhattan, where she was living before her untimely death, in 2015.

‘I love it in New York. It’s expensive but I can’t see myself living anywhere else right now,’ she expressed in a 2024 interview with the Irish Independent.

She said she lived in the Upper East Side, and records show she rented a small studio apartment for about $1,900 per month.

‘I was the small town girl who needed to get out to achieve her big dreams,’ Nolan-O’Slatarra told the Irish Independent last year.

Carlow is roughly 55 miles outside of Ireland’s capital city Dublin.

Although she only intended to be in NYC for nine months, Nolan-O’Slatarra got a job at fintech start-up Street Diligence, a company that worked with what she described as ‘top-tier hedge funds’.

She claimed the firm’s CEO offered to pursue visa sponsorship after she successfully landed investment bank Jefferies as a client.

She left Street Diligence after two years, bouncing around at multiple companies before starting her firm Brand Growth Consultants – which has an online presence that appears to be completely AI-generated – in 2021.

Determined to break the mold of her small town beginnings, she founded the fashion brand East X East, a company specializing in luxury swimwear, the same year.

The business was hosting a pop-up sale in Montauk when she unexpectedly passed away, according to a social media post.

She also launched several companies, including her direct-to-consumer Amazon brand Duper, her LinkedIn page reveals.

Nolan-O’Slatarra was also appointed director of operations at K4 Capital Management, an investment management firm, in June last year.

While residing in a humble studio, the self-declared entrepreneur and brand growth consultant enjoyed a glamorous lifestyle, which she flaunted on social media.

TikToks posted on her account captured her riding private jets and helicopters with her friends.

She and her pals took a Falcon jet to Nashville for a concert in 2021 with Nolan-O’Slatarra highlighting her ‘#milehighclub’ and ‘#privatejet’ life in the captions.
