LA MESA —
A small brush fire briefly threatened an office building and homes in La Mesa before firefighters got a handle on the blaze Wednesday afternoon, officials said.
The fire was reported about 1:40 p.m. in the area of Water Street and Amaya Road, where trolley tracks run along trees and brush, not far from Grossmont High School.
The fire charred less than an acre of brush, said Heartland Fire & Rescue spokesperson Andy McKellar. No injuries were reported.
Trolley service was not interrupted, McKellar said.
No further information was immediately available.
