Renowned professional golfer Phil Mickelson is advocating for Minnesota Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar to be sent to Mogadishu after she reiterated her controversial remarks concerning the late conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

“Ilhan spreads animosity with every statement she makes, and she arrived here under false pretenses; hopefully, she’ll return to Somalia soon,” Mickelson shared on X this Saturday.

In the CNN interview that Mickelson referenced, Omar held her ground on her characterization of Kirk as “Dr. Frankenstein” who was “killed by the monster he created.”

“What I find astonishing,” Omar conveyed to CNN’s Kaitlan Collins, “is that there are so many people willing to dismiss the most appalling things he advocated, who support his views, who wish to erect monuments for him, commemorate his life with a special day, and propose congressional resolutions to honor his legacy.”

Omar added, “I refuse to sit passively and face criticism for not wanting to commemorate a legacy that should be relegated to history’s refuse, allowing us to progress and leave behind the daily hatred he propagated.”

Mickelson has posted regularly about Kirk in the aftermath of his death last Wednesday.

Saturday evening, Mickelson, commonly referred to as “Lefty,” attached his response to a query regarding a potential federal ban on pride flags in the military, suggesting it reflects the core of Charlie Kirk’s ideology.

Earlier this week, Omar narrowly survived a censure resolution filed by Republican South Carolina Representative Nancy Mace over Omar’s “vile comments mocking the assassination” of Charlie Kirk.

In addition to the censure, the resolution would have stripped Omar of all her committee assignments.
