A pedestrian was in the north travel lane of US Highway 441 in the path of the SUV and was later struck by the vehicle, FHP said.
COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla. — A 50-year-old Lake City man was killed early Saturday morning walking north on US 441, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said an SUV was heading north on US 441 near Northwest Meeks Street, the crash report. Around 12:15 a.m., a pedestrian was in the north travel lane of US 441 in the path of the SUV, and was struck by the vehicle.
The driver continued a short distance north before coming to a controlled stop in the northbound lane of US 441, FHP said.
This investigation is ongoing.
