Recently released surveillance footage reveals the dramatic scene as three masked burglars executed a daring break-in at a high-end handbag store in California, making off with merchandise valued in the hundreds of thousands. The incident, which occurred earlier this week, has left the store and its owner reeling.

The brazen theft took place at the Bella Abby and Ava Boutique in Newport Beach in the early hours of Sunday morning, just before 4 a.m. The video captures the trio forcefully entering through the store’s front door, swiftly filling large trash bags with luxury purses before fleeing the scene.

“They went straight for the Chanels, clearing out that section completely,” explained store owner Jennifer Sprenger in an interview with ABC 7. “Next, they targeted the Hermès collection, and then it seemed like they were grabbing whatever they could.” Sprenger noted the efficiency of the theft, adding, “With three people working together, it’s apparently quite easy to gather a substantial amount of goods in just three minutes.”

The security footage, timestamped Sunday, January 18, 2026, vividly shows the masked individuals as they ransacked the boutique. The loss extends beyond handbags, with all jewelry also reported stolen. “I’m just devastated,” Sprenger shared. “My heart is broken.”

“They took all the jewelry. I’m just very sad. My heart is broken.”

Within minutes, the bandits made off with over $200,000 in stolen luxury items, the outlet reported.

The suspects reportedly fled in a brand-new BMW 4 Series and a Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 Coupé, two high-end vehicles that lacked identifiable license plates.

“These criminals cannot be allowed to just keep going around and ransacking and stealing from people,” Sprenger said. “I’m a single mom. I have three daughters in college, and here I am, working to take care of my family. To have them rob me of half of my inventory, it’s not right.”

The Newport Beach boutique reportedly opened about a year ago, and Sprenger suspects the burglars had targeted the store and pulled off the heist using knowledge of the store’s layout and security measures.

“They knew where the lights were,” Sprenger added, according to ABC 7. “They shut off the video cameras. They turned cameras. How would they know where all this was? It’s like it was a very well thought-out, planned attack.”

Sprenger has hired a private investigator to help locate the burglars and is reportedly offering a $10,000 reward for any information leading to their arrest.

“I really tried to do everything I could to protect the facility, but these people just knew what they were doing,” Sprenger told the outlet. “They’re not first timers, there is no doubt about it.”
