Gisele Bündchen has revealed she feels better in her forties than she did in her twenties.

The Brazilian supermodel, 41, who posed for stunning snaps for a new Vogue interview, told how she feels ‘like I’m just beginning’ as she opened up on ageing and the healthy lifestyle she’s adopted since her twenties.

Giselle, who was clad in an ensemble from the Michael Kors Collection FW22 on the cover, also candidly opened up on feeling like she had hit ‘rock bottom’ at the height of her career, where she was gripped by anxiety and panic attacks for a year and a half before reaching her breaking point.

‘I think I feel better in my forties than I did in my twenties and not just physically, because we’re all told that life is over at 40 and I feel like I’m just beginning.

‘From the outside, it looked like I had everything and I was just 22 years old. On the inside, I felt as if I’d hit rock bottom, I was starting my day with a mocha Frappuccino with whipped cream and three cigarettes, then drinking a bottle of wine every night. Imagine what that was doing to my mind…’ she revealed to the fashion bible.

Gisele recalled how a friend recommended she seek help from a naturopath, who immediately prescribed an all-encompassing detox.

Removing sugar, grains, dairy, caffeine, alcohol and cigarettes from her lifestyle came with intense withdrawal symptoms, as the runway star explained.

‘I think those were the worst migraines I’ve ever had in my life. The doctor, he was French, would call me Adrenalina. I remember him saying, ‘Well, do you want to live?’ It was that simple.”

Three months later, Gisele’s debilitating symptoms were as good as gone, with the star rising at 5am daily to meditate and work out.

The former Victoria’s Secret Angel believes the key to a successful partnership is to be ‘to be really in sync.’

Sharing her wisdom, she said: ‘I don’t think relationships just happen; it’s never the fairy tale people want to believe it is. It takes work to be really in sync with someone, especially after you have kids.

‘His [Tom’s] focus is on his career, mine is mostly on the kids. And I’m very grateful that he lets me take the reins when it comes to our family. He trusts my decisions.’
