Mountain City traffic stop nets 10+ grams of meth, driver arrested

MOUNTAIN CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — A man faces multiple drug charges after a traffic stop in Mountain City on June 14.

The Mountain City Police Department shared on social media that they pulled over a car because it was showing a license plate meant for a different vehicle.

The driver, identified as Peter Mann, was arrested for driving on a suspended license, the police department reported.

Drug paraphernalia and a bag of suspected methamphetamine weighing 10.2 grams were reportedly found inside Mann’s vehicle.

Mann was taken to the Johnson County Jail and charged with the following:

  • Felony possession of schedule II meth
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Driving while in possession of meth over 5 grams
  • Switched registration plate
  • Driving while license suspended (3rd offense)
