Liverpool fans have teased Arsenal over a ‘shameless’ detail that was included in a celebratory social media post on Tuesday night.

The Gunners booked their place in the Champions League quarter-finals after a dramatic penalty shootout win with Porto – after a 1-1 draw following extra-time.

Luckily for Mikel Arteta’s side, Porto’s Wendell and Galeno both missed from the spot and, in turn, ensured Arsenal progressed to the next round.

In a post on X, TNT Sports wrote: ‘For the first time in 14 years, Arsenal are through to the #UCL quarter-finals!’

However, fans were quick to note that, due to the fact Arsenal have never won the Champions League, TNT Sports’ graphic makers were forced to use a Liverpool picture.

Fans noted that it was Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp lifting the trophy in the picture that in the Arsenal graphic.

After it was revealed that it was Klopp in the picture, it didn’t take long for Liverpool fans to chime in on social media and claim that it was ‘shameless’ from the designer.

Elsewhere on the night, Porto head coach Sergio Conceicao has accused Mikel Arteta of insulting his family during the tense Champions League encounter.

‘The result was injust. Our team deserved to go through,’ said the Porto boss.

‘What Arteta said, towards the bench in Spanish, he insulted my family. He should focus on training his team.’

Arteta has denied Sergio Conceicao’s accusations, with club sources indicating the Spaniard did not say anything about his rival’s family.
