Gwyneth Paltrow is answering questions and is opening up about her future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, how often she talks to her Iron Man co-star Robert Downey Jr., and rumors about a feud with Meghan Markle.
Paltrow took to Instagram and opened herself up to answer fan questions. One of her followers asked her to be honest about whether she was returning to the MCU to reprise her role of Pepper Potts.
“The truth is, I don’t totally know,” Paltrow said. “I think I might, but I’m not sure. Nothing is confirmed. That is the truth. That’s the inside scoop.”
Paltrow played the role of Pepper Potts in the MCU when she starred opposite Robert Downey Jr. in 2008’s Iron Man. She would reprise the role in Iron Man 2 (2010), The Avengers (2012), Iron Man 3 (2013), Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), and Avengers: Endgame (2019).
Downey will rejoin the MCU, but this time as Doctor Doom, the villain in Avengers: Doomsday, which is scheduled to be released May 1, 2026. A fan asked Paltrow in Spanish if she still talked to Downey everyday, to which she also replied in Spanish, saying, “Not every day, but we talk a lot. And you know what? He’s going to turn 60 years old on April 4. I’m most probably going to call him that day.”
Paltrow also addressed the alleged “beef” she has with Meghan Markle. The Duchess of Sussex is creating a lifestyle brand, and many are comparing it to Paltrow’s Goop, pitting the women against each other.
Answering a question from a fan about the alleged “beef” the two have, Paltrow turned the camera, revealing Markle having pie with her, shutting down any feud between the two stars.
