A 13-year-old girl experienced a traumatic encounter on her way to school in the Bronx, where she was sexually assaulted by a man on Thursday morning, according to police reports.
The incident occurred as the young student headed towards Baychester Middle School at approximately 8:20 a.m. The suspect allegedly led her into a secluded section of Seton Falls Park near E. 233rd St. and Wilder Ave. in Edenwald. There, he forced her to lift her shirt while he performed an indecent act, as indicated by police sources.
Following the assault, the suspect fled the scene, and fortunately, the girl did not suffer any physical injuries beyond the ordeal. Currently, no arrests have been made, and the search for the assailant continues.
The suspect is described as a heavyset man with a beard, dark complexion, and around 5 feet 9 inches tall. He has an afro with a bald spot and was last seen wearing a black jacket layered over a sweatshirt, along with black pants and boots.
